lol, never said anything about them being show quality, what a callous comment. Anyways show quality or not, they are my first discus I've owned and I'm happy with them. I won't tell them what you said. :P Not to mention when I ordered them I bought "assorted discus", I didn't want to pay top dollar and have a few hundred dollars die on me never having experience with them.

I love your discus they are awesome. They look good in a planted aquarium and your tank is very nice. I wish I had a tank that size or larger.

My sincere apologies if you felt my comment was callous - certainly not intended to mean it that way. Shouldn't have said it, but it was a lol type statement.
I guess you didn't notice I was also complimenting you on your tank and plants in the same breath - and I simply thought you were well aware your discus were not great specimens - it was a tongue in cheek comment, but intended to help you out if/when you ever considered expanding your discus tank set-up. Guess it didn't come across that way. I certainly don't have show quality discus either, which I admit, but they are good stock and may have some potential. My aquascaping skills leave a lot to be desired as well, and are well below yours. Have a look at my tank if you care to - and should you ever feel the desire to improve on the quality of discus you're keeping, I'd be more than happy to try to point you in the right direction. http://s1105.photobucket.com/albums/...ul/lolliblues2 |

It's no big deal, like I said I ordered the cheapest discus I could find literally, I wanted discus , but not ever having them and the stigma that goes along with them, I was cautious to buy more expensive ones. I didn't want to have to explain to my other half why a few hundred dollars just got flushed down the toilet lol.
But I'm happy with them, they have alot of personality. I wouldn't be opposed to buying better quality discus but these ones are my pets. I've enjoyed watching them and I'm in no hurry to part with them. Last edited by Silky; 08-07-2012 at 02:07 AM.. Reason: . |

Added some brazilian pennywort from one of my other tanks to help cut back on the light. Some of my anubias ( the one high up on the drift wood) are growing abit of algae. Trying to figure a way to help stablize the floaters, they are kind of tumbling in the flow at the moment. anyone have any suggestions?

I love your tank. I have always always always wanted discus, but have never been in the situation to have a large enough tank. But I look at yours at the example, love it! beautiful, and I love the rainbows as well.
