Pieces of My Dirt Substrate On My Sand?

I added the sand on top of my dirt in my bowl, but a few particles got on top of the sand. What do I do? I was thinking I could take a fine net and stir it up a little because they are lighter...

That's the biggest problem with mixing substrates. It eventually mixes together no matter what you do.

The net, or a gravel vac with the flow pinched down are good for getting detritus off of sand. You just have to be really careful or you'll mix things up even worse.

Oh well, it's a biotope anyways so I would think the sand isn't pristine in rivers of the amazon tributaries...
