did you ever figure out what the problem was with your canister? i can bet it was incorrect installation of the o-ring, i've had the same problem before. I recommend using a canister regardless of the brand you choose. by the way I ove your tank

I'll have to trim it within the week or it will break the surface.
I believe I'll have four more when I trim.

he he, not just 4 more..... I have had stems after trimming throw out new side shoots at every node up the stem. It is a monster grower, one of my favorite plants.

Yeah when I trimed it I ended up with 6 instead of 4. I'll be giving these away eventually. I've already gave three to a buddy who's starting up a tank and their growing like wildfire in his. Just not as colorful.

Very disappointed in the flordia sunset its slowly turning bronze but the bottom sides are staying yellow.
Is this plant starting to flower?
I tried googling to see but was not getting any hits.

The tank looks really nice and has evolved quickly!! I like it! You need some sort of plant for the mid-ground. Kind of goes from "low" to "tall" pretty quickly; I would like to see another plant layer in there somehow. You could try planting a few high-iron root tabs around the Sunset to see if that will help with the coloration.

Not sure what your stem is sending up there....looks like a flower stalk to me.

I put root tabs when I first planted them they are growing in rather well. Their are just turning bronze on top. I put these in 3 different tanks and the best I'm getting is my sons 14 gallon. Highlight excel dosing and ei, no co2. Same root tabs in the roots, its still holding its colors and the new growth is coming in very colorfull.
Maybe I can post a pic latter. I agree about the mid ground I was hopeful the crypts would fill that nich. I will take suggestions on a mid ground. I could group the crypts
Which would open the area around the ozelot.
Thanks.

Pretrim and traded for some cherry shrimp.
I'm also in the process of ordering a St Elmos Fire to replace the Red Ozelot. It finally sent a runner which I cut and put where the ozelot was previously. If I get the Elmos Fire I'll be trading the mother Red Ozelot. Or maybe even give it away I'll have to wait and see.

I also gave this a try. I put 10 more tabs around the crypts.
