Here's what my tank looked like on Aug 11.2002 with diy yeast generated co2 on my 75 gallon tank.Look carefully and you'll see the plants in front of the green background. Most of these plants were in the tank for 6 months.

Heres what it looks like on Sept.27,2002,45 days after installing a pressurized co2 setup. Same reactor, same lighting, same fertilization, same plants. I had to trim a lot of it back twice because the light wasn't reaching the bottom. No lie, no exaggeration.

Wow!
I am thinking about buying some sort of pressurized co2 the next holiday. Great looking plants! Kit

Dude, man, you shouldn't oughta done that. Now I'm going to have to ditch my yeast cans and buy a pressurized system! That's a LOT of growth!! Amazing!!

Look at how dramatic the difference is when you do a side-by-side comparison! This just shows that yes, you can have a fairly nice tank with DIY CO2, but if you really want lush growth, pressurized is just the way to go!

Gulfcoast, thanks for getting both pictures side by side on the same post. I tried to do that but it wasn't working so I got impatient and gave up.
It really is amazing how much growth happened in 45 days. I couldn't believe it myself because you really don't realize it from one day to the next. I forgot how how sparse the growth was till I came across the "before" picture. I had to post it. And that was after I sold 2 freezer bags full of clippings to my LFS. I built my CO2 system. It runs 24 hrs, no solenoid to turn it on and off. The biggest problem I have now is keeping the nitrates up so the plants don't starve. |

If you look at my pics I just posted.. you will see really good growth from a Slop bottle DIY CO2... And I am running into 0 Nitrates aswell.. so I guess I am not sold on the pressure can Co2 yet... but yes... Nice looking tank.. and yes.. you have not so red.. red plants just as I do.. ZERO NITRATES... doesnt it suck?
