Nice -- what is the substrate? I appears to be a very gravelly-sand. I like it.

The pea gravel is much finer than what I have around me.... Did you get it at the lfs or a hardware type store?

LFs-- Mine carries; I dunno, 2-3 different types of pea gravel that differ in having different mm grain size. Mine does have a smaller mm than most aquarium gravels.

No Co2, No ferts, and a 7w pc flourescent clip on. No filtration either. I've had this tank since November, though I just recently cleaned it up. Over that time I figured out what plants could/would thrive in those conditions, and what you see is what did well. Of course low light plants were the basis, but I was surprised that hair grass and micranthemum micranthemoides could do well here.

Yup, I have normanis and a juevenile betta in there. Interesting, because they always seem to be available around here-- could be because they're a favorite of local breeders. They are beautiful fish.
