Hurricane warning

Everyone with sensitive fish/inverts, please remember to do your water changes now before the hurricane hits.

Water authority will need to clean out the pipes using chemicals to prevent bacteria, so doing a water change or topping off a week or two after would not be smart.

Just my 2 cents.

They usually up the amount of chlorine to help keep the lines clean.

I just topped off all my shrimp tanks so I don't have to worry about anything, gotta do two of my 33's tonight. Takes forever.

So would it be safe to still change the water right now? Or are they adding other stuff other than an increased dosage of chlorine into the pipes?

Probably safe now, just do it asap.

Check your local water authority. With all the run off, they're bound to filter/add chemicals

yeah also test your water for excess metals during this time. My tap had an unusually high copper and TDS reading this morning
