25G cube brazillian jungle updated 5/6/12

I would take photos now but the algae has become embarrassing and all of the trumpet snails are on the acrylic, waterchange and major cleaning day is tomorrow so will try to find time for better photos then, photos coming in a minute just to give a small amount of update this is the ug hygro and ludwigia tub, second is my s repens, which I harvest weekly since start up, grows nicely under these lights, sadly i'm trying to rid myself of the setup.

Why are you trying to get rid of it? You have amazing growth going on.

Just another taxing thing, too much harvesting and I'm not always home to turn on or off the lights or water, hence the melting on the s repens and the bad bacteria throughout the water reservoir, as promised I am uploading photos will update the original post as well as post a new one

Well here they are after some cleaning and replanting of some s repens that the dempsey digs up =p getting a acrylic scrubber today to polish off the last of the algae =p comments?

also the bright reflection about midway off to the right on the top pictures is the emersed setup, you can see just how bright the lights are, and I took 2 of the bulbs out, imagine with all 5?

Why not put them on a timer?

Good lookin tank man. It is gonna fill in nicely.

Let me know what you plan on doing with the repens from the emersed setup. I may be interested in some of it if you are willing to sell.

i'm trying to trade it for 6-8 ancistrus, same with the ug, i can see how many stems I have and i'll keep them as whole as I can, however most of it is runner from the mother plants

I would be cool with that. I am going to try a bunch of it emersed if I can. I wouldn't mind using that as a carpet plant when I get my 20 high up and running. Let me know what you have left over. Maybe we can work something out.

it makes a beautiful carpet =p my 20 long was almost entirtely covered in s repens from emersed trimming, will let you know not sure how much it is worth =p just want to get some plecos from it

Sounds good man. Let me know what other plants you are gonna get rid of. I will have plant funds again in 2 weeks, so there is no rush about it. Just round some stuff up and gimme a price. I am not too picky.

the repens is going to need a little more time to recover, the vacation took a higher toll than I expected and most of the leaves have melted away, will let you know once it is full again, however i still have plenty of stems if you don't mind bare stems, the leaves will melt under water anyway

I would not mind that at all. Just let me know what stems you have for sale when you do. If you have any Hygro difformis, consider it sold. Lol. I love that plant.

=p i don't have any but i could easily get some I'm sure. gotta break down a couple tanks gonna be down to one =\ but it will be this one =p currently my favorite besides my big fish

I can get some hygro difformis too, but I would rather buy from the small pet stores or members than the big box stores.

Why are you breaking down tanks? Hope everything is good on your end.

bills piling up and i haven't been called back to the job that laid me off, serving in a steakhouse doesnt exactly pay the bills right now.
