HC darker than usual?

My HC seems darker than usual, or I think it is. Is it normal for it to be dark(er) green? The lighter green patches are from an emmersed patch *which doesn't seem to be doing so well transitioning from emmersed to immersed *

The darker green patches were in my tank for about 2~3 weeks if that helps. My nitrates seems to be too low as the recommended dosage for a 13g isn't enough apparently.

Yeah, it is, but I'm thinking it's algae on the leaves?

It's kind of like anubias, in a sense, where the leaves are just growing darker.

Well, it looks good IMO. Gives some depth to the carpet.

I'm using two 30W T5HO bulbs on my tank right now. It doesn't look like algae though, well not the usual kind I guess :\ (ignore the algae on the anubias, it was from another tank lol)
