First Nano Planted Tank

Hi all

I'm re-entering the world of freshwater tanks after taking off for 17 years. In the mean time I've become a salt water reefer, 75 gallons currently.

So here it goes;

Tank - Fluval Spec 2.5 Gallons

Plants - Hopefully I got these right.
(1) Anubias barteri
(1) Lace java fern/Windelov java fern
(1) Pistia stratiotes

Shrimp
(1) Cherry Shrimp

Fish
(3) Celestial pearl danios
(2) Killifish (male/female)
(1) Otocinclus Catfish
(1) Kuhlii Loach (tiny)

Already had my first disaster using a cheap betta aquarium bowl heater.....found out it was keeping the tank at 89 degrees....needless to say I've upgrade to a 25 Watt Cobalt heater that is currently behind the sponge filter.

Nice. Is that rock or wood on the bottom?

Rock that is half buried in the substrate. Wish it was petrified wood, but it looks like it.

Thanks for the compliments.

Also wanted to include some top pictures. I always believe a tank should look good from the side and the top. Probably because of my reef tank.

Everything looks great so far I LOVE that bottom driftwood piece a lot of detail for one so small. My only suggestion would be to take back the kuhli and the otto and get 1-3 more CPDs. Both prefer groups of 5+ and tanks 10 gallons+ and a few nerites can easily take their place. (there is also some AWESOME looking nerites out there nowadays)

I wish my new tank looked that good but it will soon enough patience is a virtue I guess.
