should have did an emersed start on it. don't forget micro nutrients. if you have no livestock in the tank, i would run that co2 at like 6bps and dose the crap out of it. just to the point of a nasty algae outbreak.

on the flip side, i am LOVING having pressurized co2 now. i came home today to find all the bba in my 60 purple...yay!! never thought i would be so happy to see purple fuzz in my tank....lol

DSM is for the birds. I've tried that previously and it never worked out. Plus I had to put all my shrimp in this tank. They would've been dinner in any of my other tanks.

gotcha. i'm surprised you're having a tough time with hairgrass growing under that light. even without co2, it should still grow decently.

A Scud you say.... I'll have to research how to get rid of them without blowing up the tank. Maybe some kind of fish would find them tasty. But not eat my shrimp. Ugh, aquariums are dumb...

How do you know what light Im using on this tank? Break into my house lately? I haven't actually put any DHG in the tank yet. I know that will grow. All the DHG mats for this tank are still waiting to be planted in my 40B. But the Co2 tank on that one ran out last night so Im kind of in panic mode with all the plants I'm holding in there. It's the stupid HC I've NEVER under any conditions been able to carpet.

The light on the tank I'm talking about is a Catalina dual 36w PC fixture. If 72w of PC about 11" off the substrate with cranked Co2 and full dosing won't carpet HC I'm gonna quit this hobby. Oh yeah, plus a lot of Fluval root tabs AND Osmocote tabs every 2" or so in the substrate...

The tank is a standard 11.4 gallon rimless. From GLA. So yeah, like 6/wpg. Lol. Told you I was serious.
