Hey gang! Well.... my mom got me the new Fluval Spec (the long one) for my birthday last week and I'm about to start up a 20g long rimless tank soon too. I'm pretty impressed with the Spec. Anybody have any inverts to sell/trade? Would love something interesting but would be cool with cherries too. Here's my Spec...

Running a heater and CO2 in the filter chamber. I cheated and used a DHG mat I had been growing emersed for a longtime.

Saying I'm back might be an overstatement of the situation... lol. But yeah, I'm still chugging along with 60hr work weeks plus school. I barely find time or energy to feed my fish. I'm trying to decide between inverts or dwarf puffers in the Spec. Its a really nice tank actually. The light doesn't seem awful. I have a few fixtures I can use if it turns out to be insufficient. Its nice to hide a heater and diffuser in the overflow section.

if i were you, i'd go with inverts, at least they can go a week or so without food if you get busy

A week? I have 2 CRS and 2 Yellows in a tank I haven't fed in months.

Hey all.
Not new here or to planted tanks but haven't been keeping a FW tank in a while. I got the bug again though so I started this little 5g nano.
It's definitely low tech but I think it will grow out pretty well once it starts filling in. I'm using a spiral 15w CF bulb and the substrate is a mix of aquasoil and regular estes gravel.
I have a couple of crypts, some anubias and java fern right now. Fauna is 3 black neons and a cory cat....and my mystery snail.

yeah is a nice tank, although i wouldnt call 15w over a 5 gallon tank low tech, depending on how high its mounted.
I have a 9watt over a 5 gallon right now, and that pretty good, bright enough yet still not battling algae all day,
