I would like some plant suggestions for my tank. Black brush/beard algae wiped out about 60% of the plants I had, and slightly damaged what is left. I think the problem came from having a leaking DIY CO2 system and heavily dosing Flourish. I've starved the tank of Flourish, and the algae is almost gone. I will have some DIY CO2 running as soon as I can make a system that doesn't leak.
The lights are 4x 40w (NO) of Sylvania plant bulbs (forgot the name). For right now, I just have Flourish, Flourish Tabs, and Plantabbs. If I can actually get the plants growing, I'll probably switch to some other fertilizer.
The water has a pH of 7.4, KH of 11, and GH of 10. Did I mention the fish were mostly Mbunas? Don't worry, none of the plants previously in the tank were mowed down. A few were "tasted", but that's as far as they got.
So... what plants do you think I can grow (aside from Vals, Anubias, Hygro, Crypts, and Java Fern)?
