co2 through sponge filter


has anyone ever tried using diy co2 instead of an air pump on a sponge filter? probably wouldnt work

You can certainly use a powerhead to chop up the bubbles. It would probably even be more effective running through the sponge.

i mean using that instead of using an air pump. i dont need tons of co2, and if i didnt have to have a diffuser, it would be nice.. porbably wont work thoguh

ooooooooohhhhhhhh....

I wasn't on the same page, sorry. You'd need tons of gas. You would very likely gas your livestock.

dont do that, the PH will be low enough to kill/inhibit the bacteria culture inside.
