T5HO Pink Bulb VS 6700K Bulb?
Does a pink t5ho bulb put out as much usable light as say a 6700k bulb does. I have a 10k and a pink bulb on my 36" 2 x 39w fixture and it realy does not seem like a lot of light. Should I switch this bulb and put a 6700k on instead? Please Help.

"pink bulb" is pretty subjective. If you know the brand/model of the bulb, someone may be familiar with it. Also, keep in mind, a bulb that puts out a high amount of useable light doesn't neccessarily equate to one that looks very bright, as certain spectrums appear brighter to the human eye than others.

It looks pink because most of the light is in the yellow/red range.
They don't put out as much total light. This is usually true of "plant bulbs" of any flavor. They are optimized for a particular spectrum, but total output is diminished. Just pick a light "color" rating that looks good to you, but if you stay around 6,000-10,000K, you'll get a brighter light in most cases. |
