Nutrient deficiency or normal?

Recently, some of my plants including an amazon sword and some anacharis are growing new leaves in a dark red color. It looks sort of like red crayon scribbled on the surface of the leaves, but eventually they mature and turn green over time. Anybody have any idea what this means?

It simply means new growth... many plants will show reddish colors on any new growth and normally only on the tips, they normally revert back to the original coloration of the plant with proper light and nutrients.
