the most famous - 4 lfs around our area

i live 20 minutes from there good deals on their dried goods (for all pets) but I rarely get actual fish there.

I live 5 minutes from there....its actually quite dangerous!!! Having me drive by their on my way to and from work.......yeah, the fiance yells at me often when i make a "quick stop" on my way home lol!

They actually just had their anniversary sale not too long ago! IT was awesome! They had deals like $1 per gallon for fish tanks and $1.25 per gallon for stands....crazy awsome deals! Too bad its only like that one day a year lol!

I've been to both stores, and they are good for a lot of things. I'd rate That Fish Place as the far better store, especially for planted tank related items.

I'd say both fall a bit flat if you want very high end or exotic equipment.

I like the stores, but I also think there are several as good stores in the area, depending upon what I'm looking for.

the Hidden Reef in levittown is another really good store which is somewhat in the area.

For what it's worth: I've been to Nemo's many times, and Aquarium center in NJ once. I like the second more, but have probably given more business to Nemos. I'd say that aquarium center has better fish selection.

Have not been to that fish place but plan on checking it out sometime.

I will have to agree with DaveK. That Fish Place has a huge selection far beyond what others carry, but they do fall flat when it comes to exotic things for fish, plants, or regular pet items.
But to add some argument to that statement, i got my four piranhas from them. I also saw a bunch of Baracuda there one time as well! But that is just all random, its not like they keep them in stock lol.....So they occationaly / randomly get exotic fish in, but not often, and when they do, its not advertised on their website.

gas for 180plus miles + toll fee cost me $40 to visit each time
i visited there today
they have bunch of 9-14 inch long, 3inch fat clown loaches for 69.99 each
never saw that big one in lfs
also they have lots of fish , i coulnd find at other stores
and their plant selection , they have all easy to grow plant , i used to buy on internet

That fish place is fun. They just sent me some random coupons in the mail. Most of the fish are bread and butter fish but their salt water selection is very nice. I always get dry goods there because it's usually cheaper than buying online. They're literally a warehouse...

@ Joon , i didn't know if you saw it or not but they have a giant touch tank too filled with starfish and stingrays and few other things you can stick your hand in and touch!
