Vinlo - two things give the movie away as being present day - 1) Uncle Rico getting a cell phone call out in the middle of a field in the middle of nowhere, and 2) the aforementioned student ID with the years 2003-2004 on it. It's remarkable in itself that there are areas of the country that are still in that era!
Oh man, another great scene is the time machine. LOL "Kill.... power.... kill... turn... off" Hahahaha

Naah Buck. It was actually in the theaters for quite some time. It started off as a project for some college kids and it started getting bigger and bigger until Fox and MTV picked it up. It was made with like a $250,000 budget and has grossed over $44,000,000 in the theaters. It's definately worth checking out.

I however believe the best scene to either be Kip when he runs over the tuperware with Rico's fan or when Dynamite is drinking his gatorade in front of LaFawnduh.

as for the elvis costello issue... I'm a big fan, but I don't think that its worth missing a genuinely funny movie over. perhaps it was an innocent mistake... who knows, maybe elvis picked it up from somewhere, too... I'm not saying that it wasn't a little low to steal a moniker like that, but maybe the writer who made the decision heard it from a friend and wasn't given any explanation as to the background of the name, but just thought it sounded funny.
I know. I am stubborn, but that is just the way I am!

Two things surprise me.

1. Buck is an Elvis Costello fan - Guys, Buck is even cooler than we previously though!

2. Some folks aren't sure who Elvis Costello is. Download the song "Alison" or "Red Shoes". You will recognize them!

Wow. I just saw this movie last weekend and Ive been telling everyone theyve got to see it. Its a movie everyone can relate to in one way or another, and in some strange way it reminds me of a Seinfeld show gone horribly wrong. I couldnt stop laughing through the whole thing. Just the way he speaks is so funny!

A couple parts I like: When hes threatening uncle Rio about calling the cops. When he offers "Pedros protection" to the kid at school, and the gym scene...
" I TOLD you, I was up in Alaska hunting Wolverines with my uncle." Had me laughing so hard... a must see if there ever was one.

Oh... and the snowboots he wears... thats classic.

Haha, you can actually buy those snowboots on Ebay right now! Ok, I wouldn't go that far, but I am going to pick up one of the baby blue "Endurance" T-Shirts like he wore in the film. Haha
Haha, I forgot about the Wolverines. "I shot them with a flippin 12 gauge shotgun, what did you think?! What would YOU do in that situation?!"

That kid has so much angst, LOL

Netflix always has it listed as a long wait so I'm probably going to break down and rent it from the evil Blockbuster. On second thought screw Blockbuster, I will just go buy it.

I plan on buying it. I've already laid down the $4.27 twice to rent it, so I might as well buy it already!

My wife works at Target and she said that the movie sold out in two hours on the first day and is still hard to get.

LOL.

Saw the movie a couple of weeks ago, and thought that was one of the most random movie that I've seen.

I want to see the movie so bad. And I don't know of anyone that has it. All the stuff that I hear around school and what not makes me jealous.
