Which external for a 20gal?

What do people here use?

I'm thinking Fluval 205, but I'd like one big enough to hide a heater if possible.

Aquaclear 50, a HOB style is good.
The smaller Eheims might work, if you like them. (I don't)
Rena XP 2 is a good size.

I've got a Hydor inline heater attached to the outflow of my Fluval 205, works great and is hidden between the wall and the backdrop.

If you get one the 5/8" model is easier to connect to the Fluval hosing than the 1/2" model.

They are both good at filtering. I've owned both. The rena pushes a lot more water than the fluval. To get enough flow for me I had to add a power head when I was using the 205. Also, I did not care at all for the tubing that fluval provided.

Went for the 205, I'm going for an Amazon blackwater theme so flow isn't essential.

Bah, tubing is the reason I didn't consider Eheim.
