Which external for a 20gal?
What do people here use?
I'm thinking Fluval 205, but I'd like one big enough to hide a heater if possible. |

Aquaclear 50, a HOB style is good.
The smaller Eheims might work, if you like them. (I don't) Rena XP 2 is a good size. |

I've got a Hydor inline heater attached to the outflow of my Fluval 205, works great and is hidden between the wall and the backdrop.
If you get one the 5/8" model is easier to connect to the Fluval hosing than the 1/2" model.

They are both good at filtering. I've owned both. The rena pushes a lot more water than the fluval. To get enough flow for me I had to add a power head when I was using the 205. Also, I did not care at all for the tubing that fluval provided.

Bah, tubing is the reason I didn't consider Eheim. |
