Help with company Logo

I have and aquarium maintenance company. We've really cornered the reef market in Tusla but now I am branching out in high end planted tanks, vivariums, aviaries and interior tropical plant care.

Company name is AFD AquaFloraDesign.

Hopefully these pics will be big enough to see. I need a good graphic designer/articst. I just sketch these on ms paint.

Which one do you like?

for the real logo with the fern with the water droplet on the end I'd use a real picture behind the AFD. If not real vary realistic. It would be behind with maybe a few fronds overlapping a couple parts of the letters.

i would like to see them with some cgi pis behind them to get it looking more professional. no offense but if i received your card i would throw it away thinking you are rookie

Also, your design looks a lot like the ADA logo.

Wow... a little harsh there, Jason.

I like the general concept a lot. I don't think the logo looks too much like ADA's, but the name does sound a lot like it though. I just think you need to have someone else make it more "professional-looking", and you should be good to go.

and for what its worth... i would toss it too. just being honest. i get all kinds of junk mail, if it doesnt catch my eye, i throw it away.

And yes, you do need a good "graphic designer/articst", one with spell check

I did not mean harshly. Sorry if it came off that way. If I was starting a fresh business the first rule of thumb is to put your name out there to be remembered. What is the first thing people remember? Big name brands and this is associated with similar signs and colors. It is an excellent sales pitch.

Thanks, that's just the honest words I needed. There is some effort to look simular to other companies but still be distinct and unique and not look like a copy. Another thing is I'm just a small Tulsa business for now and nobodies gonna say "hey is he copying ADA?" I actually wasn't going to use the initials but a lot of people started saying that they'd just use AFD. THere is also a tropical plant maintence company in town whos name is Tropical Plant Design and go by TPD and have a simular logo.

I like the second one but by no means was I thinking of using that actual image. I mean, I did that on ms paint. lol

My company name right now is actually Ultimate Reefs Inc. and for the past 7 years we've mainly focused on Marine aquarium maintenance and coral propigation for the Tulsa area.

Here's our current logo.


I thought about trying to use it some how but it's too Yang for me. Sharp, edgy, tribal. I wanted something modern and softer.
