Wow! Awesome growth!

A lot of people get frustrated with setting up new tanks as the plants don't look good, but they don't realize, as show in your posts, that patience will make the tank look better!

T5HO 78 watts (2 bulbs). www.aquariumplants.com substrate. And their Total fertilizer pellets. Started off with DIY yeast co2 1 2L bottle. Then, added to 2 bottles. Now, using the paintball co2 system with 4 bps. 10 hours of lighting. The Cobombas grow ridiculously fast. Those on the left side of the tank are from the original ones on the right. Next is the hygrophila corybomsa stricta on the left. They seem to take off last week. They are really getting too dense. Just added some Moneywort and Wisteria in the middle. I am sure they will grow like weeds soon.

I do about 8% water change every other day. Adding Seachem Equilibrium since it contains all the macro nutrients and some micro ones. I use a bit of Tetra FloraPride too. I have no intentions to micro-manage my nutrient levels. I was dealing with some brown algae earlier but now it seems that they are slowly dying down. However, I am getting minor green hair algae outbreak.

So, is 1 month and 1 week old now.

I opened up the tank more. Add some Money Worts in the middle. Move the Melon Sword to the near center. Add some Narrow Chain Sword by the foreground. The Cobambas are growing like crazy now.

Ottos. Finally managed to keep them alive for 2 weeks now. Total 5 of them.

Red eye Tetras. Cute fish but annoyed by their plant nipping behaviors.

Finally upgraded to a full blown CO2 system with a single stage regulator and soleniod.

Tank looks great, congrats on the upgrade. Moenkhousia species will eat plants unfortunately.

They killed the tip of 2 of the Narrow Chain Sword runners... Otherwise, the runners could have been keeping on growing. I used a bottle top to protect the rest of the runners.

My next project is how to reduce the amount of CO2 bubble mist in the tank without the use of an inline reactor.

The tank has been in operation for over 2 months now. It went through a lot.

Finally went to EI dosing since my potassium deficiency caused a massive leaves die off on my hygrophila corymbosa. They are recovering now. Trimmed many of the top portions and replanted them on the side. About to replace all of my cabombas. They grow too fast and too messy. After EI dosing, my amazon swords are out of control. I have leaves measured close to 2ft look!!! My narrow leave micro chain swords are growing again after I reduced my phosphate level and using EI dosing. Recently planted some staurogyne repens. Unfortunately, many leaves were dying off. A lot of them only have couple of leaves left. See how it does before I have to replace them. Hopefully, they will recover soon enough.
