Rotala macrandra was always one of my favorites, but very difficult to maintain. I wish you the best with that plant. In the front center, is that HM growing wild? You could easily trim that down into a very nice bush. I recognize Blyxa, Myriophyllum and what looks to be a very large bush of Rotala on the right. What else are you growing in this tank?

many of my favorites. One trick that worked for me was making some fert tabs loaded with iron and pushing them under the R macrandra, Limno mini, Hygro Sunset, and Limno aromatica. It helped to really bring out the colors while not overloading your water column with too many ferts.

As long as you are happy, that's what counts. I only had to trim mine once or twice in the beginning and it held the shape pretty good and grew very dense.

I like how filled out it looks. Helps keep the fish in a nice viewing area at the front of the tank too when they physically cant get into the thick stuff in back.

Could you share some specs about your tank? Like the type of lighting and fert/wc schdule? I like your tank a lot. Do you use a drop checker or a ph controller?

This looks so good! Somehow stems never seem to work out for me. There is some stem secret I just don't know, and I think that people who have no trouble with stems (which is almost everybody) don't even know it is a secret.

For one thing, my stems always seem to get long internodes. Not enough light?

Also, OP, when you trim do you trim the tops or do you pull them out, cut off the bottom and put them back in?
