Elaborate Feeding Schedual

First off, this is my first thread, I am fairly new to fish keeping and really new to the planted tank aspect of the hobby.

That being said, I have a 10g planted tank with a male betta, a few mollies, a singapore shrimp, couple mystery snails, some ghost shrimp and some otocinclus. I also have a crazy feeding schedual where almost every day of the week there is a different food combo. This was born out of the fear that my herbivors (mollies) and my carnivor (betta) were not getting the right nutrition from feeding one feed all constantly.

Am I the only one? D:

I wanted to know if anyone else has some crazy feeding schedual, maybe make me feel like I'm not a wierdo and hear anyone's oppinion on the whole matter.

Thank you.

I don't have a set schedule, but I rarely feed the same thing two days in a row. I probably have about a dozen different foods on hand at any given time and rotate around them, for the same reason.

So no, IMO you aren't crazy at all.

(Though I do think your 10gal is overstocked...)

I hardly think meeting your various species needs is crazy . . .

Right now I have bettas, corries, and mystery snails. In the morning all the tanks get frozen brine shrimp (the kind that have been gut loaded with spirolina). Bettas and corries both eat these. At night the betta get blood worms (the corries happily eat any that hit the tank bottom) and I drop in a few shrimp pellets for the corries and snails. Once or twice a week I also add some lettuce or carrot or spinach for the snails.

I feed a variety of pellets and frozen foods. I have about 10 I actively feed. Necessary? I doubt it... But I do.

I only feed Dainchi dry foods and hikari frozen foods.

As long as you're taking good care of your fish there's no need to feel odd about anything you do. I'd rather hear someone talk the way you do rather than the general attitude (not here) regarding fish care. Keep up the good work.

I feed mine a mix of dry Hikari and frozen brine shrimp and blood worms. Not all at the same time.

+1 for that.

We don't want our fish friends getting bored with their diet. Also I believe that variety help them get more of the full range of nutrients than just one type alone.

Heres what I have in my fish food cupboard and freezer.

Omega 3 flake foods
Vegetarian
super color
fresh water flake
cichlid flake
cichlid pellet

For Bottom feeders and algae eaters
hikari algae wafers
aquarian shrimp pellets
wardley shrimp pellets
some random brand algae wafer.

Frozen treats
blood worms
Glass worms
brine shrimp
plankton
some multi pack variety.

Also agree based on your stock list you should move up to a 20 gallon. could probably use most of the stuff from your 10g.

Thank you everyone. I feel alot less crazy.

I know my tank is a lil overstocked but they are all happy and healthy as far as I can tell and the water is always perfect. And I am going to move some fish to another tank I am setting up. So no one call peta on me lol
