Did not know that. I just noticed the other thread about the closing and the information of pets warehouse replacing it. Sorry for the redundant info.

I agree about being able to get stuff from locals. I hope I can get to the point where I may be of more assistace to other hobbyist's.

Hello I live in Roslyn 11576, I don't know most of plant names but they grow healthy in my 120 Gallon tank, I would like to give away a 14" x 10" riccia and 10+ pcs of the below plants.

Of course, I will accept nice plants but not required for this give away. Can arrange pick up this weekend

Default NYC Club?

Is there an aquarium or planted tank club in NYC? If so please list, otherwise a NYC/LI club would be in order.

Brooklyn Aquarium Society is right in your area, I would check it out.

May 13th is a giant auction. I'll try to be there.

Is the auction open to the public or only members. I might stop by if it open to the public.

Its open to the public. Take a look at the website. Non member dues are $5.00, but there is a coupon that allows you in for free. I'd personally help support them for the $5.00 since there is free food/snacks/drinks there.

Pretty epic of them.

Hey Gordon. Looks like I missed the Brooklyn aquarium auction. Regarding discus, there's a club here in the northeast for discus, called the NEDA, a meeting to be held in April. You can go check it out at simplydiscus.com. There are no fees to join, and all are welcome.

If anyone is going to be in manhattan (upper eastside) anytime soon, I have some cheap plants for sale...local pick-up only:

Blyxa japonica $2 per stem (nice, plush, deep rooted)
Crinum thainum $2 per plant (deep rooted)
Java moss (small free bunch if you purchase any of the above)

Hi Long Islanders,

Im a grower but right now I haven't really been able to grow stuff outside of things like Anacharis and Water Wisteria.

I was pretty bummed when AA closed.

Does anyone know a good place to buy Utah Ice? I use it in my aquarium for keeping things pretty steady and most of my pieces are close to being melted away. I don't really want to buy 50lbs of it over the internet

I still got tons of Rotala rotundifolia stems....most of which are well-rooted. Big ones, small ones. Help me get rid of them!!!! They're taking over my tank!!!!!!

$1 per stem. I'm on the upper eastside manhattan.
