Long Island Growers & Breeders Unite!
Two of the larger aquarium stores on Long Island have closed.
Pets of New Hyde Park and Aquarium Adventure. Because of this its hard to find certain plants or livestock. The idea, is to provide a list to fellow Long Islanders here in the forum, letting them know what you grow in your tanks, and what types of fish you might be breeding. Don't list anything for sale, this is not a for sale thread. That is for the SnS. This thread is here to connect you to your neighbors. If you're from another state, don't post here. This is for Long Islanders! Last edited by gordonrichards; 04-07-2011 at 05:00 AM.. |

Great idea! Would it be safe to say that if there happens to be any interest in anything being grown or bred that we should just PM each other, correct? Posting requests would probably get this flagged.

I'm not a native Long Islander, but I work on the island. I was saddened to find that Aquarium Adventure is no more since it was a nice place to kill time during lunch sometimes.
I'm currently breeding assassin snails which I initially bought from Aquarium Adventure and have now spawned like crazy.

Man i would love to get some OEBT if you have some available in the future.
I'm still trying to get my tank sorted out, not even sure what I have thats still growing, but my Red Lotus grows pretty well and quickly, so that would be available at some point. My MM is also growing pretty well. I live in queens but my family is on LI so I go out there a lot. |
