Solar Duo Boy

I have the Solar Duo Boy with a 26watt 10k blue white bulb. I would like to try a bulb closer to 6700 as my HC seems to be growing more up than out. Solar Lux makes a range of lights

but I can't seem to find them for sale. Anyone have any luck with other off the shelf bulbs for this fixture?

http://www.aquatic-nature.com/2eng_verlichting1.html is that the one? What tank is this used on? The color temperature has very little effect on the plants, compared to the overall brightness of the light. You may not have enough light - depending on the size of the tank, the height especially.

yep, that's the solar duo boy light.

I'm pretty sure, but not certain, that normal 26 watt energy saving bulbs will work.

I think he's using the light on a finnex, since he has a finnex journal :-) Hoppy, do you think it's enough lighting for most plants? The finnex is 10" tall, and the light sits 3-4 inches off the surface.

Yeah, that is the light. I have the 26watt version.

My water level is 8.5" above the lowest part of the substrate and the light is 4" above the water line. The bulb fits pretty snugly inside the reflector so I am not sure if other bulbs will fit if they are not bent tubes.

My photo period is 9hrs/day, if that helps.

Who sells that light? I've found it at Custom Aquatics and they've been out for a month. D&T has it on their site but I have no clue where they are or how I'd contact them in case of a problem. They might not have it in stock either.

They both have the light fixture, but they do not sell the other bulbs.

Aside from the bulb search, does it look like I have enough light in that tank?

Has anyone found this light fixture? What about bulbs? Will it work on the 4g tank? Because if so it would work on a 3g as well.
