Tiny white dots in tank?
I have a 2.5 gallon planted nano and recently I started seeing these tiny white oval dots everywhere. They don't move and look like tiny sesame seeds. Maybe 1mm in length. They started out showing up mostly along the cracks in my driftwood but are now on some of my plants as well, and I can see one or two on the gravel. None are on the tank glass itself. They look pretty solid and opaque. They definitely look attached so I don't think they're pieces of poop. The critters in my tank are phoenix rasboras, a male sparkling gourami, some cherry shrimp, a trumpet snail, and two clithon corona nerites. I doubt these are anything harmful but I'm still very curious. Any ideas?

They are Nerite snail eggs.

Thank you! Yes indeed, I googled it and that's exactly what they are. Bummer. I was hoping it was something that would actually hatch (:

Yes, get used to them. The eggs were too unsightly in one of my nano tanks so I decided to share the nerites with my friend. I have been trying to research if anything eats them but haven't found anything yet.

Well the snail trap is not working. Maybe wrong bait. I did not have cucumber or cabbage at home so I put some banana instead but they all climb to the wall of the tank. Maybe they know it is a trap. Will try one more night and observe. This time with cucumber which is recommended. ~ CHUNTC

Do these eggs disintegrate after a while or do they just stay there indefinitely?

They do eventually disappear. It really is not that bad, you can scrape them off with a fingernail or razor blade.
