A. I think you did it--this really looks Indiana Jones!

B. Where did you get the cool 'severed head' piece? [I have a certain nostalgia for "aquarium ornaments"!]

C. How refreshing that it's not another rocks-n-grass amano rig.

D. Fun and well done--thanks for the treat!

This is really awesome. Definitely one of the most convincing reclaimed jungle scenes I've ever seen.

Its a hand carved bust from Africa. A friend sent it to me when he lived there.

Its not really an ornament as much as submerged art!

That higher quality photo makes it look more like a terrarium...very cool and unique scape.

That has turned out great. The headdress for the guy really grew out nicely. I like what you did in the top right corner with the moss.

Added Fissidens Fontanus to the top wood pieces a few weeks ago. Added Bolbitis to the top left as well.

The tank is finally balanced. The anubias petite is doing GREAT!
Its looking great! How are the cherry shrimp doing? Did you get any sukura red baby shrimp yet?

They are doing well! Yep, babies for sure! They started breeding right away.

Thanks again!

And thanks everyone for the kind words.

Im just glad the statue/bust worked and didn't end up looking cheezy!

The tank went through a long period of neglect and hard times so its nice to see it bounce back.

Its not even close to where I see it in the end but its definitely on its way! Im hoping the Fissidens does well and covers the wood along the top and the Petite fills in much more as well.

The petite has been doing really well so Ive been breaking it up and spreading it out.

The nice part is I switched to tap water and pulled all the fish that need food so there is almost zero maintenance!

Last night my cat knocked an entire potted plant into the filter (built in wet/dry that I run all wet)... 4 to 5 hours of cleaning later I think everythings gonna be OK.

The pic above is the same pic but resized, cropped and tweeked a bit for fun.

Beautiful! I love to see tanks that are done well in a style other than "nature aquarium".

The tank definitely matches the theme. Great job!
Where did you buy the petrified wood at? Those are some really nice pieces.
I'm in OC too so hopefully it's local.
