Alan's Mr Aqua 12 gallon long

I just started my mr aqua 12 gallon long. I am trying the dry start method for the first time. I need some input on my hardscape, let me know what you guys think.

Good stuff. Are those seiryu? Good choice on the DSM too. I did the same and had great results. Is that HC i see?

Is your tank hanging over the edges of the stand there? Maybe it won't be a problem for a 12 GL, but from what I've read, rimless tanks need to be fully supported on the bottom.

I plan on getting one of these in the future. I love the panorama it creates.

Yeah its seiryu stones i got from boink, and a little bit of HC i had. How long did it take to get your HC carpet going using the DSM?

It took me about 7-8 weeks i would say. Definitely worth the wait. Wish i chose a different substrate though

The layout of your rocks is quite formal. You have nearly the same number on both the left and right sides of the tank, and they are laid out pretty much the same way. This is fine, if you like that. I'm just thinking it might be a little more interesting if you could scatter some of those rocks more randomly, and have some in the middle, maybe toward the back, or add some driftwood. Rocks of different colors, textures and shapes would also add interest. Some could be smooth and rounded like river rocks, others more jagged or ragged. Some rocks could have patterns in them like streaking or striping or mottling, while others can be solid colored. I just think more visual variety would add interest to the overall view, but that's entirely up to you.
