Question

Help me unserstand how to dose iron for my 20L

Ok so I have a 20 gallon long tank (just upgraded yippee!) and a couple red plants that have the potential (and I want) to be REALLY red.
I have a Coralife 30inch T5HO and a live stock of cherries and threadfins.

Right now I have and am dosing Flourish Iron about 1ml about 2-3 times a week. I haven't found an iron test kit locally yet and am really afraid of overdosing to adverse effects on my livestock.

I also use the standard EI dosing regime. Except that I no longer dose the CSM + B (I've linked some early shrimp death in my tank to it. I think there is too much copper trace in it for the shrimp to handle).

If anyone can give me some advice on safely dosing my iron I would SUPER appreciate it lol.

You won't OD with Seachem Iron unless you seriously overdo it. The stuff is mostly water.
As for CSM+B, yes it has some copper in it. Many, many people with shrimp use it and don't lose shrimp because of it.

1. Watt [ wot ]: noun -- the SI unit of power, equivalent to one joule per second and equal to the power in a circuit in which a current of one ampere flows across a potential difference of one volt.
2. Per [ pur; unstressed per ]: preposition -- for each; for every.
3. Gallon [ gal-uhn ]: noun -- a common unit of capacity in English-speaking countries, equal to four quarts.
What does this have to do with growing plants?

I dose 1ml Seachem Iron every other day and soon I will be doing it everyday, in my 10g. Plus any other minimal amount in Comprehensive.

So you need more, 2ml minimum.
