UG dying. What do I need?

Hi. My tank is still pretty new. The ammonia levels are just going down from the aquasoil. They are at about 1. My UG was grown emersed, so it is acclimating anyway. I'm dosing seachem flourish trace approximately every day and doing water changes every day. If the UG is yellowing I don't want it to die. What should I do? Am I missing a nutrient?

Also this second plant is covered in algae and hasn't really grown since I've gotten it. It's only about 3 inches. One plant is doing amazingly well. What should I do? I use DIY CO2 and keep the lights on more than 8 hours (I keep forgetting to turn it off).

I assume that the aquarium that these plants are in is the same as the one outlined in your signature.

If so, are you currently dosing any macronutrients? It may be possible that the plants are requiring it, as you have sufficient lighting to warrant fertilization.

The UG is acclimatizing to the new emersed conditions, so it will show a bit of melting.

Finally, for your lighting, I would purchase a timer to keep the photoperiod consistent.

What kind of macronutrients? I only use seachem flourish trace. What else do I need? And yes it is the same tank as in my signature.

Take a look at the article that I wrote regarding planted tanks (it is linked in my signature).

Briefly, macronutrients such as NPK are required by plants, and usually must be dosed.

Ok here is the UG now. I got the macros a few days ago but only found phosphorus last night. Looks like I'm so surprised it isn't dead! I posted about it on my tank thread.
Anyone think it's gonna survive?

This plant LOVES co2. If you still have problems after dosing macros id up your DIY co2 or consider going pressurized. The same is true for your alternanthera/algae issues. This plant grows slow, likes light and holds leaves for a long time. A great opportunity for algae. Consistent co2 will help prevent this.

I am planning on ordering some pressurized CO2. Just not exactly sure when. I do want to though. Hmm. Maybe sooner than later
