possible to replace this solenoid?
I have this generic regulator with solenoid that is stuck open. I would like to know if it's possible to even replace this kind of solenoid on this regulator with the parker brand from ebay. Pics attached.

I don't understand how the thing is mounted. Does the gas come out the back or the bottom?

From the bottom, you can see the tubing on the third pic.

Unscrew the fitting. The threads should be standard. You can get brass fittings at home depot/lowes. Find the right size to attach the solenoid (I can't remember what the dimensions are, 1/4" maybe). then screw the replacement solenoid on (the solenoid might have a different thread size but the adapters should be available at the same store.) I found all the pieces I needed to connect my clippard solenoid to my regulator and then a brass hose barb for the tubing at Lowes.

Until the 3rd picture I would have said this should be easy. The 3rd one strikes that.
But... Stuck open is better than stuck shut. Put it back together and find a solenoid that has threaded connectors on each end. Adapt as needed to connect to your CO2 tubing. |
