tank: standard 50 gallons
lighting: 4 x 21watts T5 (i need to improve on this) mounted on a DIY canopy filter: eheim liberty 200 HOB filter substrate: natural river sand co2: 5lb tank + gentec regulator + needle valve + reactor others: buble counter, analog timer flora: hemianthus micrathemoides, microsorum pteropus "windelov" (rhizomes), anubias barteri, eleocharis parvula, limnophila aromatica, ludwigia inclinata var cuba, heteranthera zosterifolia, hygrophila corymbosa angustilfolia, riccia fluitans, ludwigia arcuata, pogostemon helferi fauna: rummynose tetra, half black angelfish, ottocinclus, julii corydora (not yet in tank) The obligatory full tank shot ![]() still a bit cloud though even after a week. please dont mind the big rocks on top of the driftwood. im using it to weigh down the driftwoods since they still float LOL comments and suggestions are greatly appreciated! hope ya'll like it! |

That looks great so far. A 50-gallon is a nice shape/size for a planted tank.

very nice!!! how big are those discus??? I thought discuss need at least 50-60 gallons and should be in at least a school of 5-6

thanks for looking guys!
the discus are still juvies and they are around 2.5 to 3 inches. i was told that there should be at least four in a tank. so im still getting 2 more. 50 gallons is good enough for a discus as long as i keep up with the water changes. i really do hope i can. |

just be careful because discus can grow to 10" and with 4-5 of them in your tank it might be a little small for them
