CO2 question

I run co2 when the light is on then turn it off as the light goes out. I also have the controller setup if the pH goes above 6.9 it will turn the co2 back on. is there an benefit to have co2 run 24/7?
thanks

you are set up correctly! plants do not use co2 when lights are off (no photosynthesis going on), so having it run could lead to buildup - enough to maybe be bad for fishies.

on the other side of the coin, neither are your plants making o2 at night (no photosynthesis). depending on how heavy the plant/fishie load is, some people run bubbles at night to ensure enough gas exchange.

i don't have a pH controller, but I believe most people use it the opposite way - to prevent co2 overdose (they have it set to turn OFF once pH gets too LOW). if your pH is getting too high, there is likely another cause and using co2 to lower it is only masking the real problem, as well as potentially gassing your fish.

using RO/DI water. always have issue with pH goes up.
ecocomplete is the sub and using Seiryu stone.
the apex keep the pH at 6.8-6.9. if too low, it will turn off, if too high, it will turn on.
don't seem have issue with the overdose on the co2 since I setup, I got a lot of fishs, but all small fish.
I still don't know the pH keep goes up. I do have an ATO that add RO/DI water into tank as it needed. the pH on my RO/DI water is 7-7.1 that might be what's bring it up, but I don't see how maybe 1/4 of cup of ro/di can bring up the pH on a 75G tank...

I wouldn't run CO2 overnight. Your plants are doing that anyways.

Yah, I have my co2 turn on half an hour before I have my lights come on, and my co2 off a half hour before my lights....I run airstones at night as well, but that's probably overkill. I already had them so I figured why not use them.

still need to find out why the pH keep goes up, i have use seachem acid buffer to keep it down. i setup dosing pump to dose acid buffer solution to keep it at 6.8-6.9 range. otherwise it will goes up to 7.6-7.8 range.
