I think it would stand out too much among the other plants. I would however, love to have red root floaters in both my tanks, but they're hard to find where I live.

Any specific plant types you recommend?

Red woudl stand out, that's why I recommended it. A tiger lotus as a centerpiece woudl be amazing.

I tore down the entire tank out of whim and started over. I'm using the same substrate, but I got an extra piece of driftwood. I also picked up two chiclids, a pleco, and some tiger barbs as I got rid of all the tetras.

This is how the tank sits now. It's a bit barren in some places, and too lush in others. I am unsure as to what to go with from here. I'm looking for some hardy plants that the cichlids won't destroy. So far, the plants in the tank have been no problem (as a matter of fact the loaches cause more destruction).

Any suggestions?

UPDATE: 11/2/2010

Did some heavy plant reorganization. Broke up a lot of the crypts to fill in the extra space. The tank how sports hygrophilia that outgrew my other tanks. Also did some trimming. I'll take more pics once the plants take hold.

I might get some "red plants" soon to accent the tank. So far everything is doing good.

Big changes coming soon. I felt the tank was too cluttered and washed out with green plants. I'm going with a new layout soon, stay tuned.

I think some java fern v windolov would be interesting in the wood with the hole in the middle. I would like to see a Dwarf lily in there too.

I'm tearing this tank completely down and doing a paludarium setup. I've relocated most of the plants in my other tanks. I will keep the crypts in this one along with some other immersive varieties. Only the loaches and pleco are staying.

... These nice pieces of driftwood will be for sale soon if anyone is interested.

I will take pictures soon. I've had to much alcohol at the moment and don't think I can take a decent shot. LOL. I rearranged the driftwood and got new plants. The tank is half-planted with new flora and fauna.

As requested. This was taken on my phone. I'll take more pics as the tank progresses.

It's been awhile. My 29 has gone through some revisions, but it's currently well established and doing great. Here are the new pics.
