20 Gallon Long Planted Tank


I started a 20L planted tank about 2 months ago and have decided to keep a journal of this tank from about 1 week old. Only drawback is I did it with video, not much with pictures, but I do have a few. I have stocked this tank with all the trimmings out of my 55g planted tank minus the Amazon Sword. For fish, I have Neon Tetras and Glowlight Tetras along with Spotted and an Albino Corys. This tank has a 2-bottle DIY CO2 system diffused by a small in-tank filter. There is also a medium sized sponge filter on the other side to help with oxygen and filtration. I run no carbon or heaters on in any of my planted tanks. This tank is lit with a half running Coralife CFL Fixture where one bulb has blown. It looks pretty bad, but works till I can buy a T5 fixture. Ferts are API Leafzone and Kent Marine Pro Plant. Substrate is Eco-Complete capped with large rounded river rocks as not to hurt my corys.
You can see a weekly video of this tank from 1 week old till current. My 55g planted tank is also on my channel, along with an occassional view in on one of my other tanks.

I apologize that the pics above were not in order. I didnt even realize this when I first posted. I also made a run to one of the box stores and picked up some new plants. I grabbed 2 bundles of Jungle Val, 1 bundle of Lugwigia, and 1 bundle of what I believe to be Water Sprite. I planted most of this in my 55g as there is slightly more room to move stuff around in there. Oh, did I mention, I cant wait to get the other 55g up and running. Also grabbed 5 Serpae Tetra to replace the Glowlight Tetra, hoping they might stand out a little more in this tank, as well as 2 algae eating shrimp.

Just another update to the post. Super excited as yesterday I picked up a 17" Marineland Submersible LED white/blue Light Strip. Clips right on the back rim of my tank and shines nicely inside and gives me a chance to see in my tank at night without risking an algae outbreak. Very bright. Also after turning on all my lights this morning, was very happy to see my Anubias Nana pearling like crazy. I love catching this and even was able to click a few photos of the action as well as a video I posted to my youtube channel. Hope you guys enjoy.
