Tiny organisms swimming in the tank

I spotted a large white mass with tiny white specs all moving together forming what looked like a ghost swimming in my tank. Seems they have all dispersed now, I can't find any like I saw. Very strange... I have heard of diatoms? Is that what this was? They were too small to be eggs or fry. Any ideas? The male Molly was eating some of it.

Looks like we have the same issue. I believe it's Planaria. I have TONS of them.

I'm hoping that they clear up once I add fish (as predators).

My tanks ~3 weeks old. They either came in the Eco-Complete or (more likely) my first batch of live plants.

I've read Mollies and Guppies eat them.

I have flatworms?? Can you see flatworms with the naked eye? These things were tiny white specs. I need to get a microscope. I want to see all this microscopic life up close.

I used to have a problem with tiny white dots drifting through my water. They were actually too small to be actively eaten by any fish (just got breathed in), even too small for the regular human being to be visible clearly, just with a good magnifying lens it became obvious that those were actively swimming little creatures.

I believe they were paramecium (paramecia?), but since I don't have a microscope I can't be sure.

Then I filtered them out using diatomaceous earth in a HOT 250.

Then they returned in my 10 gal tank.

Then I got a Wood shrimp.

No more white thingies!!!!!!!

It's definitely not flatworms. I ordered a microscope off eBay and I'll post more info after that arrives. I suggest everybody gets a microscope... a planted aquaria is ripe for a whole new perspective on life. Thanks for the links, they'll come in handy when I try to identify the creatures.
