AUCTION RULES
Items that are auctioned are a combination of donated items and items that are sold with the proceeds split between the club and the seller. If you are interested in buying or selling in the auction please see the appropriate sections below.

Obtaining a Buyer/Seller Number
All buyers need a number which will be linked to that person’s contact information with the Auction Clerk. In order to get a number you will need to leave a driver’s license or credit card with the Auction Clerk. When you leave the auction you will check out with the Auction Clerk, and once your account is cleared you will get your license or credit card back.

You may obtain a seller number before the auction by contacting Randy Peterson (randy.peterson@wicourts.gov).

Seller Limits - Each seller is limited to 50 lots, no more than five items can be the same species/variety. No lots for auction will be accepted after 12:00 PM. All lots arriving after 11:00 AM will ALL be placed on the last selling table.

Bagging and Labeling – All fish are to be DOUBLE BAGGED with standard aquarium bags. ZIPLOCK or BREATHER BAGS are not permitted and will incur a rebag fee ($2 deducted from the seller total for each bag needing rebagging). Buckets WITH A BAG LINER OR LID THAT CAN BE CLOSED OVER THE FISH are acceptable for large fish. Fish should be packed in adequate space with 1/4-1/3 water and 3/4 – 2/3 air. The bag label should be clearly legible and include Seller Number – Bag Number, species name, quantity of fish in the bag, seller name and contact information (email or phone number). Use of the MAAH bag labels is preferred, but not required.

Raffle – Every attendee at the auction will receive ONE raffle ticket. Every bag purchased at the auction will come with ONE raffle ticket. Extra raffle tickets are available for purchase at 2/$1 or 12/$5. Auction items will each have a jar for tickets. Raffle drawings will take place at 4:00 PM, or after the last auction item is sold… whichever comes first.

Items That Can Be Sold
Live fish that are at least 1″ in length (dwarf species 1/2″), in good health and identifiable.
Live plants in good health and identifiable.
Live invertebrates in good health and identifiable.
Live food cultures.

Items That Cannot Be Sold
Used gravel or sand substrates.
Dry goods or equipment of any kind
ANYTHING THAT IS PROHIBITED OR RESTRICTED BY THE WI DNR: PLANTS, INVERTEBRATES, FISH/CRAYFISH
NO CRAYFISH ARE PERMITTED!!!

Donation Items
If you want to donate items to MAAH in the auction you do NOT need to fill out a seller sheet or bag label for those items. Let the person checking in auction bags know that the items are donated and s/he will take care of the paperwork.
