where are you Mag Clips!!!??

I last talk to a sale rep many many months ago to why they don't have any of hte zoo med mag clip any more instock.

I was told the rare metal ores or something like that is limited and they can't make any more.

So now, my suction cup in my other tank heater's has fall down two time now...they was pissing me off!

I went out and bought a hagen heater suction cup and it didn't fix because the opening of it was too small, strecth it a bit and squeeze the thing in the aqueon heater...it fit snd holding well.

Now I need to find where i can buy more of the mag clips cause we an'it got any in the USA anymore! I can't find it on any website......please look in your local store to see if they still have some...

Has anyone done a DIY magnetic suction cup of some sort and willing to share?

I love using this mag clip and they are the only clip that hold my eheim spray bar strainght............

If i can't get some, ....going to suck using suction cups...and keep replacing them..

I've used those Zoo Med MagClips for quite some time on all my tanks. Recently, I flipped my 75g tank around so that the front was in the back and visa versa. That's when I discovered that the magnets did something to the glass. Permanently. It actually altered the glass somehow.

I cannot explain it, but I can see where the old magnet had been. The alteration to the glass is only on the inside of the tank, not the outside, so it had something to do with where it was in contact with the water. Perhaps some of of chemical etching? I can feel a little roughness at that spot, but you cannot scrape it away with anything, including even a razorblade. Fortunately, it's not very noticeable when the water is in the tank so I can still enjoy the tank, but I can definitely still see it. And when I'm doing water changes, it's very obvious.

I have no idea what the magnets did to the glass and I'm still using the MagClips on my tanks because I absolutely love them, but just be forewarned that they can do some kind of alteration to the glass over time.
