UPS just dropped off my regulator woohoo! Now im just waiting on my co2 reactor and bubble counter to come in...ohhh and then I have to set the tank up
Anyway just wanted to post some pics...nothing special...just a co2 bottle I got locally, the regulator I got from beveragefactory.com and a needle valve I got from the warehouse at my work for free yay!
That's what I was thinking. It's too bad people just don't buy the all-in-one units for under $100 and be done with piecing things together, trying to find fittings, checking for leaks and such.
NOLACLS, how much will you have spent by the time you get the regulator and bubble counter. And do you have a needle valve yet?
If your needle valve doesn't provide enough adjustment, you might try to find a Clippard MNV4k2. If there is a local distributor you can get it for about $11. By mail order from fish stores, about $18. It isn't wonderful but a lot of people including me use it successfully. Also with the right adapters you can connect it directly to your regulator (after you remove the huge needle that is on there now).
Ok yall it is a needle valve made by [EDIT]Parker[EDIT]...it is supposed be able to adjust for what I need...its supposed to be a real nice one for use on oil rigs and such. But if not I also already have the clippard valve that I ordered for 9.90. I just have this one because we had it laying around the shop...it runs about 60-70 bucks our cost...but since im the owners son its free If it doesn't work I will just hook up the clippard one. As for cost so far the bottle was free (got it through the shop) but it would have been 40 filled. The regulator was like 35 and I splurged on the reactor and bubble counter since I have not spent to much so far and got the AM1000 and the AM bubble counter. The reactor was 60 and the counter was like 15 or so.
So the total is around 160 if you use the price of the clippard valve...but out of my pocket has been just about 0 so far...since the tank is at work...its now a work expense

I thought about the all in one unit but I like this regulator because it has a pressure relese valve that is set for when the bottle gets to low on co2 it will just purge the last few lbs out. To my understanding that is a good thing.
Yeah even tho I get it for free im trying to keep the initial cost down. So with the all in one unit that would have been 100 the bottle would be 40 and then the reactor is 60 and that would be at the 200 mark. I had already got the lights from AHS the filstar xp1 and other random things I needed so I went this rout. Thanks to gulfcoastaquarian for helping me out with my countless questions.
SO when I thread this all together...can I use teflon tape to help seal everything except for where the regulator hooks to the co2 bottle??
I think that parker valve is a metering valve. If it's the one I think it's 100 times better than that clippard valve. You should be able to really fine tune your bubble count with that one.
Its not the same thats on your sight but I will let yall know how it works when I get everything setup.
Scorp...it is already
E. Simpson...thats what I am hopeing
Nordic...hahaha its actualy my mom that runs the show (dad is retired)...and no she is not looking for adoptions
