Im starting a "high-tech" tank and im not sure what is best route to take with regards to co2 supplementation. Is it better to run co2 on a timer and shut it down at night or to have supplementation connected to Ph monitoring system?

Turning CO2 on 40 minutes before lights on = allows CO2 sat to build up so plants can take advantage of lighting/ferts/CO2.

Turning it off 40min before lights off = allows most of the CO2 to be used up before everything goes dark.

Times vary and so will your mileage. Just have to find the sweet spot.

Timers = a lot cheaper than a pH monitor.
