Need help from some vintage radio folk!


Idk if this is the right place for this but I'm looking for some radio heads out there to appraise this radio chassis I found:

For sale is a Silvertone 53 132.887 Chassis. Selling as a project radio or as parts

Tech:
Year: 1949/1950 Type: Radio - or past WW2 tuner

Principle Superhet with RF-stage; IF-Freq 455 kHz; 2 AF stage(s)
Tuned circuits 7 AM circuit(s)
Wave bands Broadcast only (MW).
Details Record Player (perh.Changer)
Power type and voltage Alternating Current supply (AC) / 105 - 120 Volt
Loudspeaker Permanent Magnet Dynamic (PDyn) Loudspeaker (moving coil) / Ø 6 inch = 15.2 cm
Power out 0.8 W
from Radiomuseum.org Model: Silvertone 53 Ch= 132.887 - Sears, Roebuck & Co.; Chicago
Material Wooden case
Shape Console with any shape - in general
Notes The Silvertone models 51 and 53 with chassis 132.887 are AC operated Radio-Phonograph Combination Superheteodyne Receivers with incorporated loop antenna.

NOTES:
This radio is not in working condition. Has all original knobs, dials and wood. The turntable has been replaced by a garrard 2025TC professional turntable.

Damage includes:
Minor wood splits/ failing lamination
No back panel
Unwired
Unknown functionality of radio (knobs still turn)
Cracked speaker cone
Superficial nicks and scratches
Non-working turn table.
Broken antenna
Non working turn table (broken tone arm etc.)

I'm not a radio head but just from the look/design of it, it doesn't look like it's worth much, probably nothing.

Speaking of which, 'Antiques Roadshow' is coming to Cincinnati.

That's what I thought. How hard do you think would it be to turn those knobs and stuff into knobs for heater control, LED light dimming and filter on/off ?

This would make a sweet tank stand.

Check out the DIY section. Some of the guys there use micro-controller to control LEDs.
