Inland Fisheries worker for the Department of Environmental Protection. stocking salmon, trout, walleye, pike, catfish. sampling fish (trapnets, gillnets, backpack electrofishing, boat electrofishing etc). spawning certain fish. interviewing anglers, etc... I get to play with fish all day so when I come home I play with plants and shrimp lol... and go fishing.

You stock pike...Wow. Thats what I call insane. In Alaska we are trying to destroy all pike. They have destroyed several salmon and trout rivers and lakes. If I catch one, I kill it regardless of wether Im going to eat it.

Yeah, we exterminated all our salmon runs in CT back in the 1800's... now Pike is the biggest freshwater gamefish in CT. very popular through the ice too! We catch adults, put them in a drainable marsh, wait for them to spawn, then drain the marsh and put the adults back where they came from and stock thousands of fingerlings. We have a heavy trout stocking program too but there are very few places that the two programs overlap. my favorite is the Walleye stocking program and I hope to make a piece of equipment to enhance it that we currently dont use in CT... kindof a personal buisness plan hehe.
