Hi everyone, I make a mistake: I setup a tank in the hurry of the winter coming and I don’t plan it before, I want a cold – temperate tank 18’C or 64’F , My water is very soft 40 PPM of hardness. So I put mineralize soil, topped with a gravel, I grap some Eleocharis with the sand under it from my lake, I also put some bunch of what look to be ERIOCAULON SEPTANGULARE , but not sure and also Elodea at the back, after I realize my mistake, the Elodea need hard water, so I’m rising the hardness, hopefully not too late because as you see on the pics, the elodea don’t do well, but I discover than the Eleocharis prefer non hard soil and injection of CO2 , The tank is drill with an overflow , my first intention was to run water from my well to cool it. But with CO2 and water that need to be harder, it’s hard to achieve.
Ok the questions; I like this arrangement of rock and type of plants, so
1- I forget about water circulation and inject CO2 for the Eleocharis, but what about the hardness
2- - I replace the elodea by something who like soft water , but witch one in that cold water , need to be tall plants.
3- I replace the Eleocharis with another grass plants, which one ?
4- I found a totally different selection of plants that will like softwater and don’t need CO2, ( witch one)
So I will like to have your idea, and sorry for my English
Gerard
this one is a close up take few day ago after planting, so the water was not clear
