I'm in the process of setting up my first planted tank, a cheap 10gallon I picked up at Walmart, in preparation for eventually moving up to a 75g. I figured I'd give it a shot with a small tank first to see if my black thumb transfers over from non-aquatic plants to aquatic before I spend a bunch of money stocking the 75g.
So far I've just got the hardscaping done and am still deciding on what plants to add. For fish I'm thinking I'll go with some crystal red shrimp and maybe some cardinals, rummy nose tetras, or harlequin rasboras.
I'm using Eco Complete as my substrate. My furry assistant can be seen stage right :icon_bigg
I found some really nice Pagoda rock at my LFS. I'm going for somewhat of an Iwagumi look, and am trying to recreate a canyon of sorts on the right side. The blue towel of course is not a permanent backdrop. Eventually I'll put either a black or white backdrop on the tank.

Tank filled and sitting in its current home. I'll move it once I'm ready to set up the 75g.
Thoughts and comments are welcome
