Ok, so money is really tight and I bought a 3g tetra cube (10x10x10in) for my betta. I want to do a low tech setup with most likely minimal/no dosing. The light that came with the tank is really low powered and is too tall for the space the tank is going in.
So my idea was to create my own LED fixture. I was thinking like 2, 3w LEDs. What do you guys think I should do. Like I said above, space is really tight so this fixture will need to be able to sit on top of the tank with legs or something (I have about 1.5" above the tank to work with).
If anybody could help me out to what I need to buy to make this work, that would be greatly appreciated. I'm a real noob when it comes to LEDs. I assume because I'm using so few I just need to heatsinks correct? If someone could just make me a part list, I would be so, so thankful. I want to keep costs >20$ if possible. Thanks!
