So I bought some Jungle Val from thatfishplace.com and pond snails hitched a ride and now call my tank home. Prior to this my tank had no snails and I liked it that way.
I'm not very interested in getting loaches or assassin snails or using chemicals. So far I have been extremely vigilant at removing them. Some days I would find 5 or 7, lately I have only be finding 1 or 2 extremely small ones and that is encouraging.
How big do snails have to be before they reproduce? Is it possible to be so effective at removing them by hand that I get 100% of them? Or is fruitless to try and I am just keeping the population to a manageable level?
Thanks.
PS: these are from my kids:
