Aponogetons, all of them. Sword plants. lily's like Nuphar, Nymphaea or Nymphoides, In shallow water pipeworts, hairgrasses. Deep water Vallisneria. Many stem plants will grow to the surface then produce aerial growth and flower.
Lotus are root feeders so just make sure you have enough base fert and maybe supplement with fert sticks. If you look at the photos, all the leaves are emersed leaves and this is a requirement for the lotus to flower. If you cut the emersed leaves and let the new leaves remained immersed, the lotus will not flower.
hello pal, felt silly just buying 1 plant of the net so i had the five plant package.my tiger lotus came today lovely and red the only thing is they are very small and delicate will the stems get thicker and stronger.
they will provided there is enough base fert. alternatively, you can supplement with fert sticks. That's what I did and now the leaves are bigger and it is throwing new leaves constantly. The immersed leaves can get quite big.
Just to give you another example... the leaves in my tank reach a foot length.
