Who's eggs are these?

I found this odd cluster in my shrimp tank

Tank inhabitants

Nerite Snail (36 hours and removed)
Tiny pest snails

Many RCS
A few OEBT

4 Celestial Pearl Danio (Galaxy Rasbora)

These are tiny. Not sure if the Nerite snail did it, it spent most of its short time buttoned up.

Looks like a cluster of dropped shrimp eggs to me.

RCS eggs aren't white. I'm not sure what egg color OEBTs have. And shrimp eggs are round, not oval. They aren't nerites and pest snails generally lay their eggs above the water line. Is it possible that your CPDs spawned?

OEBT eggs are orange-ish

Those eggs aren't white on my monitor. They are a yellowy beige and look just like the RCS eggs I find dropped in my tank and they are oval not round (looking at a clutch that was dropped this morning right at this minute).

Listen! I'm already paying child support for one egg! There's no way you're getting me on those!

Here are some RCS eggs (not my photo). Color can vary from beigy yellow, bright yellow, to green and perhaps other shades and variants in between.

As you can see, they are quite oval. I don't know about other shrimps but I do, sadly, know what RCS/PFR dropped eggs look like and all the ones I've seen have been oval just like these. Perhaps some have round ones, but all I've seen are oval.

RCS eggs, as well as OEBT eggs, can vary in color. I think one of the few shrimps with only white eggs would be snowball shrimp.

Hey guys, thanks for the help. The eggs are a beige yellow. Logic would dictate they are shrimp eggs. Too bad, I was hoping the CPDs spawned.

At least my shrimp are starting to mate. Good sign.

Definitely not CPD eggs. Those would be round with a solid round spot in the middle and a clear/transparent ring around the outside. Also they are scattered and not in a cluster.
I would also bet on shrimp eggs.

I like that berry picture ;-) And yes, according to my picture, at least OEBT eggs are oval. (sorry for using this picture so many times, I'll take some more ;-)

I have RCS and they have dropped eggs a few times and they look just like the ones in your photo. (Normal for young females that have not learned how to hang onto them yet) They likely will not hatch as they need constant fresh water fanned over them to keep bacteria from getting on them and killing the baby. Nerite snails breed in salt water from what I was told when I bought mine.

Close They can breed in freshwater as well as lay plenty of rather unsightly eggs. But the eggs either don't hatch or the babies can't survive (can't remember exactly which one) unless they are in brackish water.
