I love the look of floating plants, but I have some high(er) light plants so I can't have the whole surface covered.
Anyone have pics of scapes combining the two? I'd love some inspiration.
I'm already working on some ideas for corralling floaters with airline or fishing line... :icon_bigg
If you're thinking about small floaters like duck weed then a weekly cull will keep them at bay. With larger floaters I'd be more inclined to try and set up my surface flow to keep them where I wanted them rather than mess up the surface with things like airline or fishing line.
I use my center brace as a divider. Floaters on the right, high light stems on the left. Cull frequently. I've also found that large floaters, like frogbit and water lettuce are easier to manage than smaller ones, like duckweed or salvinia.
red root floater or frogbit would be easy to cull.
NO duckweed though, it is awful to cull!
