72 bow floating in there... it won't sink... it's not leaking tannins but I did soak it in a 5 gallon bucket for a few hours at least... it's floating in my 72 and has been for more then a day now... will it eventually sink? do I HAVE to weigh it down? I already attached java fern it to so I would rather not boil it if there is another way possible I will wait longer if it takes that because the java fern will get some really good light floating with the drift wood at the top of the tank. quicker growth with dry fertz and c02 injection. + flourish for trace and occasional flourish iron w/ flourite.
Yes, you can float your driftwood until it sinks, depending on the wood it make take a few days though. If it doesn't sink after a week, you may have to weight it down.
With Manzanita, I've never had to leave it floating for more than a couple of days before it sank naturally but I've had other driftwood that took well over a week and that was weighed down by scaping stones.
